The Spring Lake Park Empire Beauty School presented Women's Advocates, Inc. with a donation in the amount of $2,608.20 through fundraising the students participated in. The school also offered free beauty services and tours of the beauty school as they celebrated Beauty on a Budget theme during the 100 Days of Empire Open House event.
Raina Hein from this season's America’s Next Top Model was at the event signing autographs and judging the student fashion show that took place. The students were judged on the before and after pictures of the model they decided to give a make over to for the show. The categories were: most dramatic changes, most trendy, best color, and best all over look. There was a demonstration of henna tattoos and Karaoke for students and guests. Some of the beauty on a budget tips were dedicated to four classrooms which were set up for:
1. Easy ways to style your hair on a budget
2. Fruity facials- items you can find in your home to give yourself a facial on a budget
3. Mini manicures and how you can do it yourself at home on a budget
4. Fashion on a budget- how you can make the clothes you already have look different but mixing and matching with other items and accessories.
