Malden Empire Beauty School Presents Funds to Shelter!

The Malden Empire Beauty School celebrated 100 Days of Empire with an open house, featuring free beauty services and welcomed tours of the school to guests. The school also had a theme for the day as students dressed up as celebrities and popular fictional characters. Every type of character and celebrity was on hand such as Jackie Kennedy, Janet
Jackson, characters from Avatar,Grease, and Hello Kitty. The students were very excited about the day and very excited to show their skills and talents to the guests and potential students taking tours of the school. There was one classroom dedicated to the guests where students were able to show off their work and talents. Completed mannequin's with beautiful and creative updos were displayed as other students did a live demonstration of an updos for guests to see. There was also face painting for children, and mini makeovers and mini manicures for guests.
The school also presented and check to their local domestic violence shelter, Housing Families, in the amount of $2,136.81. The shelter spokesperson was extremely grateful for the donation and explained to the students how the donation would help families in need at the shelter. The shelter was "adopted" by the school, and the money was raised during the 2009 National Day of Beauty. The student’s were so happy to help out their in own community and are looking forward to raising even more money this October for the 2010 Nation Day of Beauty.
