Hyannis Hair School Donates To Local Domestic Abuse Shelter!
July 10, 2010
The Hyannis, MA, Empire Education Group beauty school proudly donated $1,493.35 to the Safe Harbor Shelter--which offers services to women and children. The shelter was very appreciative of the donation and the students hard work to raise the money. The shelter explained the program and how the money will help the families who are currently living in the shelter.
The Hyannis school celebrated 100 Years of Beauty on the day of their 100 Days of Empire. The day had two events; a fashion show and a mannequin competition. The mannequins had various hair styles from the 1940’s and 1950’s and day and evening students participated. The main event was the fashion show. Students dressed in a complete look from a decade they chose—hair, makeup and fashion. There were many styles, the 1920’s, 1960’s, 1970’s and the most popular were the 1980’s. A few students also decided to make nail art to display for the day. The design of the nails were very unique and creative. The salon was also busy as students offered free beauty services to welcomed guests, and tours of the school.
