Boston Beauty School Donates Over $3,000 To Shelter!

The Boston Empire Beauty School proudly presented a donation to their local domestic violence shelter, DOVE, Inc. in the amount of $3334.96. The students were so excited about the amount of the donation they hope to raise twice as much during this year's National Day of Beauty event. The shelter was so appreciative of the donation and explained to the students how the donation would benefit the shelter and those who utilize the shelter.
“Love what you do” was the theme the Boston cosmetology school celebrated on their 100 Days of Empire open house. The school was busy from the time the doors opened. The salon was busy and so were the students either working on the salon floor offering complimentary beauty services or taking part in the activities planned for the day and tours of the school to welcomed guests. The school had a DJ, an Empire alum, who arrived and played music while the students munched on finger foods donated by Max and Dylan’s Kitchen/Bar for the event.
There were also two demonstrations throughout the day that students could attend. One was a demonstration by a teacher on different types of hair weaving and wigs. The other was by teacher, Jason Gavann, who is a MAC representative. He showed the students different and unique techniques with makeup. There was also an appearance outside of the school by 108 KISS FM, a local radio station that played music and promoted Empire Beauty School and the open house. The school also had fresh popped popcorn for guests from a popcorn machine. Hourly raffles for the students also filled the day's events, and prizes included gifts bags and a few CHI flatirons.
There was a special presentation for all students and guests by Kelly Washington. Kelly is a current student at the Boston Empire Beauty School and he is also an R&B artist. Kelly belongs to the band Ahmir, which is one of the most viewed and requested bands on YouTube at this time.
