Bloomfield School Celebrates Through the Decades!
February 20, 2010
The Bloomfield Empire Beauty School combined their theme of “Beauty Through the Decades” with the 100 Days of Empire celebration. While the Bloomfield school did not
focus on a mannequin competition, they did focus on which class could celebrated the chosen decade the best.
Salon Students chose the 90’s, 360 Students picked the 40’s, while Students from the Presalon class 1 picked the 80’s, Presalon class 2 chose the future, Presalon class 3 styled up the 50’s and Presalon class 4 did a combination of 70’s through present day.
Everything in the classrooms or salon had to be decorated with the theme including the students hair, their mannequins and their area by decorating the walls and stations.
The Bloomfield school also presented a check to their local domestic violence shelter, Eva’s Village, in the amount of $582.73. For the check presentation, Executive Director Sister Gloria Perez spoke to the students about how appreciative the residents at the shelter are for their support and donation. Robert Ruane, Third Ward Councilmen for NJ, was present for the check presentation and he also spoke to the students about how important their support was to the shelter residents.
The staff and students also offered free beauty services to welcomed guests throughout the day and offered tours of the school to those interested in pursuing a career in cosmetology.
