Avondale Open House Draws Crowd!

Avondale Empire Beauty School’s open house got started outside as their guest DJ cranked up the music and drew in a big crowd 
for the school. Students were dancing and feeling the excitement as more guests were drawn to the school’s open house event.
One student, Jenny Jay, had a constant line at her station as she applied makeup to different guests. With the overflow of people at the school taking tours and receiving beauty services from all the senior level students, the student competition was moved to another room.
Local salon representatives were on hand to judge the competition which included long hair design, braiding, trend cut and color, makeup storyboard, nail art display, and men’s storyboard.
The school also presented their locally adopted shelter, The New Life Center, with a check in the amount of $1714.95. The donation was the result of the proceeds the students earned during Empire’s National Day of Beauty event in October.
